I’m a Registered Social Worker with a background in Child Development and Family support, social justice and community development. Although the latter may seem unrelated to clinical work and therapy, it is essential to my approach and practice. I believe that we cannot separate social and systemic context from the individual experience and I strive to maintain a critical and self-reflective practice that is rooted in anti-oppressive principles. In my clinical work, I believe that you, the client are the expert in your own life. My hope is to work with you in building a safe and compassionate therapeutic relationship, that centres your well-being and gives voice to your experiences.

I came to social work in a somewhat roundabout way. I went to an Arts high school, called Etobicoke School of the Arts, where I majored in Drama, then at Queen’s University I continued with a dual degree in Drama and Psychology. After Queen’s I moved to New York City, where I attended Theatre School at The Neighborhood Playhouse. When I returned to Toronto, while auditioning and doing some theatre, I went back to school to do my Bachelor of Social Work and my Master’s in Social Work. It may seem like a substantial jump, but the more I’ve been doing this, the more I realize that what interested me about theatre and character study, is the same thing that motivates me in this work as a therapist: I have always been empathetic and curious about the human condition. In my work as an actor as well as my work as a psychotherapist, I consider it the most important job to bear witness to other people’s unique experiences; their joy, their pain; their need for recognition, healing and understanding.

I am a mother of two strong-willed, energetic and incredibly sensitive kids. As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a family.” I firmly believe this. We certainly aren’t meant to do it alone or in isolation. I know I appreciate all the help and resources I can get! Supporting parents through the challenges (and notable joys too!) of raising children is essential to my work. I offer parenting support. Together, we can build on your strengths, parenting capacity and resources in a non-judgemental space.

I offer Individual, Family and Couples therapy.

My practice is attachment based and trauma-informed. I understand that we store our trauma in the body- that our experiences affect mind, body and spirit; therefore, my therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that healing is multi-faceted and I work with you to determine which modalities will be most supportive.

I have a background in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Somatic Therapy, Mindfulness and Meditation, Narrative Therapy, Arts-Based and Drama Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

Although everyone will have unique reasons for seeking out therapy, I think people share the common goal of finding an empathetic listener; someone who will offer a compassionate space for healing, growth and perspective. It is important to me that I am able to provide that for you in our work together.

My practice is LGBTQ2S+ Positive and welcomes diversity.

MY FEE is $160/hour for individual therapy and $170/hour for couples/family therapy (sliding scale available)

Note: Most Private Insurance plans cover some or all of Registered Social Workers sessions.
